Shalom - a gute vokh!

My name is Robert Teicher. I have been producing and broadcasting on a
Sydney Radio Station - 2RES 89.7 FM for the last eight years. I
present news, both international and community, I play Yiddish songs
and music, David Eshet, Max Perelman, Yacov Sandler, Jan Pearce,
Mickey Katz, as well as Klezmer material, Klezmer Conservatory, Dave
Tarras, etc., as well as Hebrew/Israeli songs, Ilanit, Yehoram Gaon
and occasionally more modern Israeli songs, eurovision, etc. I read
jewish recipes from Sydney's Great Synagogue Recipe Cook Book. And the
program is sponsored by The New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies
together with The Wolper Jewish Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

The program is braodcast every week on Thursday 15:30 - 16:00 (half an hour).

The name of the show is ROBERT TEICHER'S JEWISH WEEK.

I also interview important jewish people when and if it is possible,
e.g., Alan Dershowitz, when he was here in Sydney a couple of years
ago, as well as local community jewish leaders and personalities. I
have an interview nearly every month.

Over the last eight years the show has gained momentum, as I myself am
fairly active in the jewish community here in Sydney. I am the
choirmaster at the Great Synagogue in Sydney where Rabbi Raymond
Apple, the chief rabbi of Australia, is our rabbi. More recently Rabbi
Mendel Kastel has been associated with the Great Synagogue, too.

I also sing at the Sydney Opera House as a chorister with The
Australian Opera and have accompanied on the piano many Yiddish
singers at well over 100 charity type concerts promoting Yiddish songs
and Yiddishkeit.

I am 36 years old and when I was 18, I worked on radio 2EA (special
broadcasting service) for several years producing programs in Yiddish
and Hebrew with English translations.

Please let me know if you may require any further info and I thank you
for your web page.

Khag Sameakh and Zayt Gezunt!
